and renew every four years. This outing is an extension to

October
The
Four Lakes Group hosts the Chapter's Annual
Autumn Assembly in Oct '08
This is
where our whole state comes together to play, learn, decide,
and meet each other! We will be gathering at Upham Woods in
WI Dells on Oct 10, 11, and 12th. We will have plenty of outings
planned all weekend or you can listen to some of our speakers.
We will have three naturalists dedicated to hosting children's
activities as well. This will be your chance to meet Club
leaders and members from across the state. This is the perfect
family event which also provides a great time for our Sierra
singles. Upham Woods has an island for us to explore and we
will canoe around the island for one of our outings. There
will be overnight accomadations in tents, group cabins, or
more private dormitories. The camp only has room for 150 of
us and with the great schedule, I anticipate that we will
fill up quickly. Save the date now, so when registration forms
are available you can sign up immediately.
We are
currently looking to book musicians for Sat. night. We have
a few ideas for a keynote speaker and if you have any connections
or recommendations, we would love to hear from you. We are
also planning a silent auction. Members from each group will
be donating items with the proceeds going back to the donor's
group. If you have an item you think would work, please contact
Jenny Persha at jennypersha@gmail.com!
RSVP
Please
While we don't require an RSVP
for many outings (for some they are required), we recommend
that you let the outing leader know that you'd like to join
in on the activity ahead of time. Our volunteer leaders enjoy
the opportunity to share outings with fellow Sierra Club members
and the community at large. Giving the outing leader a heads-up
that you would like to join in lets them plan a little better
and make your experience more enjoyable. It also offers them
the opportunity to contact you if plans change.
Outings:
Liability Waiver & Carpooling…
In
order to participate on one of the Sierra Club's outings,
you will need to sign a liability waiver. If you would like
to read a copy of the waiver prior to the outing, please see
the John
Muir Chapter's web site.
In
the interests of facilitating the logistics of some outings,
it is customary that participants make carpooling arrangements.
The Sierra Club does not have insurance for carpooling arrangements
and assumes no liability for them. Carpooling, ride sharing
or anything similar is strictly a private arrangement among
the participants. Participants assume the risks associated
with this travel.
